The largest multimedia franchise in the world, Pokémon, is based around capturing magical creatures and training them as friends and battling companions while exploring the Pokémon world. While the first games had 151 Pokémon for trainers to collect, the franchise has now surpassed 1000, and shows no sign of stopping. This, naturally, has resulted in massive diversity within the Pokémon to make them stand apart from one another, such as through gimmicks.
