We’ve lost a lot since the Streaming Wars replaced the Golden Age of Television — namely, consistent release schedules and substantial episode counts — but it’s a great time to be a sci-fi fan with a TV. Apple keeps banging out fiercely original, distinctively cinematic visions of science fiction, like Severance and Pluribus; Disney+ saved Star Wars with The Mandalorian (and promptly ran it back into the ground); and Paramount+ has as many hits with Star Trek as it does misses.
