2026 has already been a big year for two of anime's most successful franchises, Dragon Ball and One Piece. In January, the former announced a full-scale return of Dragon Ball Super, with a continuation of the 2015 anime currently in production, and a pseudo-remake set to begin airing later this year. The latter's Netflix live-action adaptation returned for its second season in March, while its own remake by Wit Studio, titled The One Piece, is currently in production.
