The problem with streaming is that shows can get cancelled out of nowhere. You can spend eight hours getting invested in a world and its characters, only for a platform to decide the viewership wasn't quite good enough and cancel it overnight. It happened to Mindhunter. It happened to The OA. More recently, The Recruit got the axe after two seasons before the main storyline could conclude.
