After Homelander, Fans Want Antony Starr To Play Iconic DC Villain

Antony Starr is done as Homelander but fans want him as another DC villain. The acclaimed actor was recently seen in The Boys finale episode.

DC fans are rallying for Antony Starr to play Reverse-Flash

Antony Starr’s seven-year run as Homelander finally ended with the premiere of The Boys Season 5 Episode 8, as the once-fearsome villain met a brutal fate at the hands of Billy Butcher.

His portrayal of the villain in The Boys over the past several years has won many fans. Now, they want him to keep playing more antagonistic roles. Following The Boys’ end, a reliable insider, My Time To Shine Hello, sparked an interesting discussion on social media over Starr’s future. “Now that he’s done with The Boys what role should Antony Starr play in the MCU?”, wrote the scooper.

However, DC fans had a different take than the insider. Many of them believe Starr might be the best fit for playing the iconic DC villain Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash. One user wrote, “He would be a great reverse flash…”

Another fan echoed a similar sentiment saying, “someone tell James Gunn we have a generational Reverse Flash casting right here”. One more user came up with a similar response, writing, “Now that THE BOYS is over and Antony Starr is done playing one of the best villains as Homelander…it’s time for James Gunn to pick him up to play another one of the greatest villains…REVERSE FLASH.”

Meanwhile, another person added, “I’ve been seeing a lot of Reverse Flash for his next role and y’all are cooking”. There was another individual who vouched for Starr to play The Flash’s arch nemesis in a live-action future project. They wrote, “This man needs to be the reverse flash”

As for the iconic DC villain himself, Reverse Flash has already made his live-action appearance in the past. The CW’s The Flash featured Matt Letscher as Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash over a decade ago.

Fans are eager to see whether Starr will show any interest in taking on the comic book role down the line. As for his next major project, the actor will appear in Netflix’s crime thriller series Breakers, expected to be released sometime in 2027.
