Two years ago, Richard Gadd's Netflix crime thriller Baby Reindeer premiered on Netflix and became an immediate streaming sensation. The series sparked conversations around masculinity, sexuality, and sexual abuse. It won numerous awards and made Gadd a recognizable name. This April, he returns to the small screen with a new drama series, Half Man, but not on Netflix. The six-part HBO miniseries explores similar themes but with different characters. Half Man follows two half-brothers, Niall (Jamie Bell) and Ruben (Gadd). While not related by blood, the duo grew up in the same household, and their personalities could not be much different. The series takes place in the present, but flashes back to the 1980s to peel back the layers of the brothers' relationship that is explosive, violent, and slightly uncomfortable.
