The queer and femme collective returns with Bass n Babes Vol. III. Expect captivating vocals, thumping basslines, and explosive drums.

Bass N Babes is celebrating Pride Month in style with a fierce new musical showcase. Their third compilation, Bass N Babes Vol. III, highlights 14 rising bass artists from across the country.

The 12-track, femme-forward album is unapologetic and spans underground sounds and multi-genre bass music. True to the collective’s founding mission, this release bridges the gap between the LGBTQ+ and bass music communities — and it does so in heavy, dubby style.

Mixing established favorites with exciting newcomers, Vol. III offers a perfectly balanced, fresh sound. Vancouver, BC’s shmani makes her Bass N Babes debut with “Shameless,” a dubstep-infused hyperpop track that layers her own vocals over sharp sawtooth synths and deep wobbles.

Also joining the collective for the first time is Denver artist Bass Temple, bringing “What It Feels Like,” a melodic dubstep tune packed with psychedelic synths. The project also introduces SOOSI to the music scene with her official debut track, “Mermaid Riddim,” which delivers a beautifully feminine twist on classic riddim and dubstep.

LA-based non-binary artist Lex Looper and farley. from Long Beach mark their return with “baddie bounce,” a provocative anthem for the girls, gays, and theys that seamlessly laces striking vocals with dubstep and UK bass. Newcomer Rhianah Harleigh aligns with compilation veterans two girls one laptop for “In My Bag,” layering spellbinding vocals over heavy low end frequencies to craft a hauntingly beautiful track.

Marking a milestone for the label, Bass N Babes Records co-founder and trans drum and bass princess Charlotte Rose makes her official debut on the project with “Is This Thing On?” The aggressive, synth-heavy drum and bass track is loaded with unconventional vocals that are quintessentially Rose, not to mention a guest appearance by Looper.

These compilations do a wonderful job of letting each individual artist shine while advancing the collective’s shared mission. Bass N Babes Vol. III is more than just a collection of multi-genre bass tracks — it’s a powerful testament to the talent within the LGBTQ+ community and a celebration of inclusive, boundary-pushing underground music.

If you’re in the LA area on Saturday, June 13, join shmani as she headlines the release party, Pride for Bassheads II, with IIBARRA, Baby Kush, and Lex Looper on support.
