A new glimpse at a canceled Batman TV show featuring fan-favorite DC characters has surfaced. Details are scarce but the show would have come from Ismahawk the filmmaking team known for their Batman fan films as announced in 2021.

What do we see in the photos from the axed Batman TV show?

Power Rangers and Bullet Train star Yoshi Sudarso has shared a new look at a live-action TV show called Wayne Family Adventures. The photos and videos shared by the actor show him in a Nightwing costume along with the rest of the Bat-family on set. The miniseries would have been based on the Batman: Wayne Family Adventures webtoon.

I do still have some footage of our Bat Family one, maybe it’s time it saw the light of day?

This was prolly one of the most painful experiences of my life tbh ?#nightwing https://t.co/b6PJfBemAc pic.twitter.com/jjqDW6Pg3S

Sudarso shared the images in solidarity with the cancellation of Batgirl, the unreleased DCEU film starring Leslie Grace as the titular hero. “I do still have some footage of our Bat Family one, maybe it’s time it saw the light of day?” wrote Sudarso in a social media post on X.

The images show a new take on various Batman-adjacent characters, including Robin, Nightwing, and Batgirl. Sudarso added that the show would have featured “the whole Bat family”, and it would focus more on the characters’ relationships. In a follow-up post, Sudarso wrote, “It barely had us in the suits, it was more about the relationships at the house in between all the crime fighting. But of course we had to post when we had the full cast in the suits!”

Another post from Sudarso shows the actor rehearsing “for the Nightwing Red Hood intros” in the first episode. The actor shared an anecdote about injuring his ankle during a jump before the rehearsal.

Batman: Wayne Family Adventures follows the adventures of Batman’s children and protégés. The Ismahawk series had cast Yoshi Sudarso as Dick Grayson, Lisa Foiles as Barbara Gordon, Tim Neff as Jason Todd, Peter Sudarso as Tim Drake, Meghan Camarena as Stephanie Brown, Gemma Nguyen as Cassandra Cain, Carter Rockwood as Damien Wayne, Du-Shaunt ‘Fik-Shun’ Stegall as Duke Thomas, and Marcus Weiss as Alfred.

An excerpt from DC about the webtoon reads, “They’re all under the Wayne Manor roof and generally enjoy giving Alfred Pennyworth and Bruce Wayne a hard time. But for all the mischief, there’s an undercurrent of love that runs through every story. These Batman adventures aren’t the crimefighting kind. In a refreshing change of pace, we see the Bat-Fam deal with everyday challenges, from a painful breakup to attempting to bake a pie for Thanksgiving. The halls of Wayne Manor are filled with life and laughter again.”

It’s not clear whether the show ever entered full production or if the images are from costume tests. However, in the one video clip shared by Sudarso, a crew member can be heard yelling, “This is the last time everyone’s in costume.” The line suggests that the show did finish some form of principal photography before getting axed.

DC never authorised the show’s production, as it was, by all means, a fan project. Following its cancellation, Ismahawk removed all traces of the show from its YouTube channel and social media.
