To put it frankly, the UK is sweating its tits off right now, as the temperature has skyrocketed to a sweltering 34°C.

While drinking plenty of water is essential in this heat, there’s one other thing many of us will be reaching for in a bid to cool off – an ice cream.

But if your go-to is a Feast, you might find yourself feeling rather disappointed by the sweet treat these days, as it’s not what it once was in the 90s and 00s.

Previously, it featured a solid chocolate centre, wrapped in chocolate ice cream, with a crisp chocolate coating and biscuit pieces.

However, Brits are just discovering that the classic ice cream has undergone a major recipe change, and the taste will never be the same.

Wall’s, the brand behind the popular ice cream, actually announced the new recipe earlier this year.

In a post on social media, they said: ‘Important info. Feast’s recipe is changing from 2026 and will now contain hazelnuts, almonds and egg.

‘Both recipes are equally delicious, but please double-check the packaging for allergen info and share this with anyone who might need to know.

‘We recognise that this means that some people can no longer enjoy Feast Original, but alternatively you can grab the new Feast Caramel, which is nut-free!’

Fans of the treat have also noticed a few other changes, with the chocolate ice cream being swapped for vanilla, and the ‘chunky chocolate core’ now being more akin to a chocolate spread, like Nutella.

Rose Honey Morgan took to Instagram to proclaim ‘summer is ruined’ after buying a box of the new recipe Feasts.

‘I have some terrible news to tell you,’ she shared. ‘Summer’s ruined, courtesy of Wall’s.

‘Look at this [new recipe]. Perhaps they’ve listened to us, perhaps they’ve elongated the amount of chocolate in the middle back to its glory days… have they f**k.

‘No, what they’ve done is, they’ve turned the ice cream into a cheap foam, and I’m so sorry to deliver this news, the chocolate is like a cheap, chemical, melty Nutella instead of the hard, unusual chocolate chunk.

‘I am aghast. Put it back the way it was right now.’

In the comments, people were equally outraged by the changes to the childhood classic, which some thought were ‘scandalous’.

@british_history_tours said: ‘Oh ffs. Why? Oh why?! Why do they take this away from us?!’

As @samcarterruns posted: ‘I’m actually incredibly saddened by this news. This is awful! That chocolate centre was the best chocolate to exist.’

Similarly, @beautjunkieldn replied: ‘Noooo?! The crunch of the chocolate was the best bit. This is devastating.’

And @rjmason84 shared: ‘This is a travesty. Flat Easter eggs were bad enough. Losing our ice creams may be too much to bear.’

While @sophiesomay demanded: ‘Petition parliament right now! This is a disgrace.’

Over on Facebook, Anne-Marie Bush was also furious, adding: ‘VANILLA = BORING. Feast is a childhood classic. LEAVE IT BE. Would you change the fab from sprinkles to nuts?’

Others felt it was a sign the ‘country was in the gutter’ and that ‘the glory days were over’.

Not that we’re being dramatic about this or anything…

If you, too, are upset by this news, some shoppers had an alternative recommendation, which was to try the ‘cheap version’ from Aldi, known as a Fiesta.

‘The chocolate inside is INCREDIBLE,’ proclaimed @leaversstation.

This comes after another big change in UK supermarkets, with one of ‘the best’ breakfast items officially being discontinued.

The team at Nestlé has confirmed that a popular cereal has been axed from their range after five years on shop shelves.

The cereal in question? Curiously Cinnamon Churros.

Inspired by the iconic Spanish sweet treat, the breakfast cereal is described as ‘super crunchy’ with a ‘unique shape’ and a ‘delicious cinnamon taste’.

The product first launched in May 2021, and fans have hailed it as a ‘game-changer’ and ‘the best cereal ever made’. So it’s fair to say this will be a big loss for many.

For those wanting to stock up on final boxes, some have had luck finding the cereal in Iceland stores. Alternatively, you can buy them online via Amazon.
