Coronation Street finally revealed Theo Silverton’s killer earlier this week, and Maria Connor star Samia Longchambon is ‘still in shock’.
After several weeks of speculation, Theo’s killer was revealed to be Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) during a flashback in Monday night’s (June 22) episode.
It transpired that she and Theo had had a confrontation on top of the scaffolding, and she had struck him with a metal bar after he threatened her. The impact knocked him off balance, and he fell to his death.
In a panic, Sarah had called Gary Windass (Mikey North) for help.
They spent the weeks that followed keeping their secret, and their suspicious behaviour led Maria to suspect that they’d been having an affair.
As well as the big whodunnit? reveal, Monday’s dinner party episode saw Maria accuse Sarah and Gary of infidelity in tense scenes.
‘I am still in shock. I watched it with my family because I’d not seen it. Obviously I was there, so I kind of knew what was happening, but it was nice to see it all edited and put together,’ actress Samia told Digital Spy of the episode and its big killer twist.
‘It was so hard because everyone over the last couple of months has been having their own guesses who the killer is and not that many people were expecting it to be Sarah so it was quite nice it gave people a shock.’
She continued by telling the publication that there would be more ‘twists and turns’ ahead, adding: ‘I think you are going to see quite a bumpy ride for Gary and Maria.’
We’re willing to bet that that’s an understatement!
Already, Gary has decided against coming clean to Maria about what he and Sarah have really been hiding, leaving their marriage in a difficult spot.
Not to mention, DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is certain that Gary was Theo’s killer, and is determined to do whatever it takes to find proof.
