Coronation Street throws hopeful Asha and Nina reunion crumbs

A possible reunion for Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) could be on the cards when the estranged besties and former flames are drawn together. Will #Nasha be a thing again? Don’t toy with us, Coronation Street…

It was one of the most beloved Cobble romances in recent memory. The quiet, well-mannered but resilient daughter of Weatherfield legend Dev Alahan paired with the quirky, kindest Victorian Goth ever to serve a bacon barm in Roy’s Rolls.

The two friends first became close when Nina supported Asha through her messy breakup with her coercive controlling boyfriend Corey (Maximus Evans).

Asha’s decision to walk away from Corey impressed Nina, and led to the two girls bonding… which resulted in a surprise kiss in February 2021.

After her horrific ordeal at the hands of Corey, Nina soon realised that she wasn’t ready for a physical relationship, leading them to break up and stay friends.

However, the two started to gravitate towards each other again after the tragic murder of Nina’s boyfriend Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni), who was killed a gang that targeted them both with abuse aimed at Nina’s gothic identity. The tragic murder of Nina’s boyfriend, Seb, deeply affected both of them. After a period of distance, Nina and Asha decided that life is too short and the pair gave their relationship another go.

But their relationship was put under strain as Asha grew increasingly distant during her paramedic training, where she grew close to her mentor Isla (Emily Dowson). Consumed with jealousy, Nina betrayed Asha by kissing her girlfriend’s twin brother Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain).

This brought Nasha’s love story to a heart-breaking end, with Asha devastated by the betrayal and unable to forgive, brand their relationship a ‘car-crash’. This ended their relationship and changed the dynamic of their friendship forever.

Much to fans dismay, Tanisa Gorey, who plays Asha, had previously ruled out a reconciliation for the couple, insisting ‘ I just think Asha couldn’t come back from that, purely based on you’ve not only cheated but you’ve cheated with her brother. Her twin brother! I’m like, no. It’s a big no go. That’s it – done, blocked.’’

Their recent stories have been separate, with Asha’s mental health struggles leading to a suicide attempt while Nina has found herself embroiled in Theo’s murder investigation.

However, upcoming episodes of Corrie will offer Nasha fans some hope of a romantic reunion when the couple find themselves closer than ever.

When Dev offers Nina, Asha and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) some cash to redecorate the shop flat for him, Asha suggests that she’d like to rent the flat. Dev points out that she can’t afford it.

That’s when Nina makes a surprise offer – why doesn’t she move in with Asha?

Will Dev agree? And does this mean what we all hope it means?
