We have made red lentil crackers so many times that we’ve tested all of the spice variations below. Still, our favourite is the base cracker recipe with a variety of cheeses, or a dip on the side.
1 cup dry red lentils 2 cups water (for soaking) 2 tbsp olive oil 1/2 tsp salt 2 tbsp sesame seeds (plus more for topping) (optional if you don’t like sesame seeds.)Savory Spice Variations

How To Make Red Lentil Crackers
Step 1: Soak The Lentils
Rinse the red lentils thoroughly and soak them in water for at least 3 hours or overnight.
Step 2: Blend The Batter

Drain the lentils and add them to a blender with olive oil, salt, and your chosen spices. Blend until smooth and thick.
Step 3: Prepare The Baking Tray
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
Step 4: Spread The Batter
Pour the batter onto the tray and spread it thinly using a spatula. The thinner the batter, the crispier the crackers.
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and gently press them into the batter.
Step 5: Bake
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 15 minutes.
Remove the tray, score the crackers into squares with a knife or pizza cutter, then return to the oven for another 15–20 minutes until crispy and golden brown.
Step 6: Cool Completely
Allow the crackers to cool fully before breaking apart. They become crispier as they cool.
