There are weird movies, and then there’s The Voices, which feels like somebody dared a black comedy to get increasingly more unhinged and it just kept saying yes. On paper, it already sounds ridiculous: Ryan Reynolds plays a lonely factory worker whose talking cat and dog start shaping his decisions. In practice, it somehow gets even stranger, bouncing between serial-killer horror, twisted workplace comedy, and something that almost feels like a demented children’s fantasy gone horribly wrong.
