Fantasy fans have been treated to some great TV shows in 2026 already, including a pair of Game of Thrones spin-offs. The first Westerosi expansion came all the way back in January with the first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which writer George R.R. Martin has confirmed is his favorite love-action Game of Thrones project. House of the Dragon Season 3 followed suit this past weekend as the second Game of Thrones project of the year, and after a brutal Battle of the Gullet for its Season 3 premiere, fans are in for a bloody and fiery penultimate season over the next few weeks. Netflix also recently brought back its most ambitious fantasy gamble, Avatar: The Last Airbender, for its highly anticipated second season. The live-action series is inspired by the critically acclaimed animated show of the same name that aired back in the mid 2000s.
