With its sequel arriving later this year, a blockbuster starring Dwayne Johnson has emerged as a streaming hit. As a result of high viewership, the film has found a place among the top 10 most-watched titles on the platform it is on.
Jumanji: The Next Level continues to be a streaming hit for Hulu
Jumanji: The Next Level is the #9 title overall on Hulu as of May 18, 2026, according to data shared by FlixPatrol. It is also the #3 movie, surpassed only by Send Help, which holds the top spot, and Twisters, which rests at #2. Its sequel, Jumanji: Open World, comes out on December 25, 2026.
The fourth installment in the Jumanji franchise, it serves as a sequel to 2017’s Welcome to the Jungle. It originally premiered in France on December 4, 2019, before arriving about a week later in the United States on December 13.
Following its release, it grossed roughly $801 million globally. This is significantly lower than the previous one’s box office gross, which is approximately $962.5 million.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a decent 72% fresh approval rating and a robust 87% audience score. The former is inferior to its predecessor‘s, which boasts a “certified fresh” 77%. Meanwhile, the latter is the same as the previous one’s audience rating.
Taking place two years after Welcome to the Jungle, the story follows Spencer, Anthony a.k.a. Fridge, Martha, and Bethany once again. After the former reenters Jumanji and gets trapped, the latter three follow to rescue him. However, this time, they are accompanied by Spencer’s grandfather, Eddie, and his estranged friend, Milo. Following their arrival, they face a new host of challenges while reuniting with old faces and meeting new ones.
Jake Kasdan directed from his, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg’s screenplay. In addition, Kasdan co-produced with Dany and Hiram Garcia, Dwayne Johnson, and Matt Tolmach.
The main cast features Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan, reprising their roles from the previous film. Supporting members include Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Madison Iseman, Ser’Darius Barlin, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover, and Colin Hanks.
