FX‘s Far Cry TV show based on Ubisoft’s iconic franchise casts a popular Zero Day star. The new series will follow the games’ open-world format with each new season featuring fresh characters and storylines.
What is the Far Cry TV show casting update?
Actress Lizzy Caplan, known for Netflix’s Zero Day and Cloverfield, has joined FX’s Far Cry TV show, reports Deadline. She is also the first casting announced for the upcoming project. Details on her character are currently under wraps.
Caplan has already been featured in an FX title. Previously, she even earned an Emmy nomination for doing a limited series titled Fleishman Is In Trouble. She was also on the Paramount+ TV series, Fatal Attraction. Besides the FX show, Caplan is also part of Netflix’s upcoming limited series, titled The Boys from Brazil, an adaptation of Ira Levin’s 1976 thriller novel of the same name.
The Far Cry TV show will be a whole new experience for fans who grew up playing Ubisoft’s long-running franchise. The series has attracted over 100 million players so far.

The very first game in the series was released back in 2004. Far Cry 6 was the most recent entry, launched in 2021. It also included a special antagonistic role, played by acclaimed actor Giancarlo Esposito. While Ubisoft hasn’t officially announced the next installment, rumors suggest the Far Cry 7 game is in the works.
The Far Cry TV show has Rob Mac, Noah Hawley, and Emilia Serrano as the executive producers. Nick Frenkel, Jackie Cohn, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill are also executive producers. The project will be produced by FX Productions.
The Far Cry TV series has yet to receive an official release date window.
