‘The market for blokes feet is mad…’ said former EastEnders’ star Joshua Pascoe, who’s recently put his own trotters on the market.

As a former Hollyoaks writer, I can confirm this to be true.

I received a multitude of DMs from fans who’d specifically ask me to write scenes that would feature certain actors barefoot, and even craft storylines around characters’ feet.

‘When I first got speaking to people they were like, ‘Can we see a picture of your feet?’ Joshua went on to say, discussing his decision to dip his toe – pun intended – into a brand new career: adult content creation on the subscription service, OnlyFans.

He’s also discovered something new about himself: ‘There are so many different kinks and since starting this, I’ve realised I’m not as vanilla as I thought.’

Joshua is, of course, known to soap fans as one of the many actors who’ve portrayed Ben Mitchell, with the character as famous for his ever-changing face as he is any of the plotlines he’s found himself embroiled in during his multiple stints on Albert Square.

Charlie Jones originated the role, back when Ben was an adorable Lady Gaga fan who was the furthest thing that Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) could’ve imagined his son would be.

Next came Joshua, who brought a sinister edge to the role, with Ben having been hardened by his experience in a young offenders facility. This Ben committed what is possibly his most heinous crime, the accidental killing of the universally beloved Heather Trott (Cheryl Fergison).

The next Ben, Harry Reid, had retreated to the closet after Phil’s initial displeasure at discovering that he was gay. It took falling in love with Paul Coker (Jonny Labey) for him to reaffirm his true identity, and he reunited with his – presumed dead – mum, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).

After fleeing with a bagful of stolen cash from Walford’s Irish gangster invasion – Aidan and Ciara Maguire (Patrick Bergin and Denise McCormack), Ben returned, fully crystallised as Max Bowden, playing the now-grown up and now-incredibly villainous adult version of Ben.

While the other Bens; Charlie Jones – who now goes by Charlie Chambers, professionally, Harry Reid and Max Bowden are still active in the acting industry, Joshua decided to undertake a different venture.

Joshua was axed from EastEnders at the young age of 16, and initially, he went on to undertake a few other roles. Unfortunately, though, he struggled more and more to secure parts as time went on, and eventually entered the building industry.

‘After EastEnders, the acting slowly dried up and I went to work on a building site instead,’ he told the Daily Star.

‘Then my friends suggested I start the adult work and within the first month I was in double figures. I get funny looks sometimes but no one’s asked me about it at work yet.’

He’s not the first ex-soap star who’s joined up to the site, with formerstars James Sutton and Sarah Jayne Dunn and fellow EastEnders alum, Danniella Westbrook, all making accounts, though, unlike those, Joshua isn’t shying away from embracing OnlyFans’ reputation for incredibly spicy content.

Discussing the happiness he’s found in his new life, Joshua said: ‘I’ve been out of the acting world for years now.

‘I’ve just got a normal job, I’m a normal bloke. I’ve got a nine to five, Monday to Friday. I’m humble – there’s nothing flashy or lairy about me, I hope.

I’m just a normal guy, but people have been really interested, which has baffled me. They’ve taken an interest and they like talking, they like finding out what you’re up to, what you’ve got in the pipeline.”

‘And it’s been pretty amazing. I never ever thought, I never ever imagined that it would take off the way it has done. And I couldn’t be happier.’
