Good Morning Britain made a major explicit faux pas after failing to catch the C-word during its live broadcast.
Before the clock had even struck 8am on Wednesday, Eurovision star Delta Goodrem was on the ITV daytime show to discuss life after the singing competition.
Over the weekend, she performed at Mighty Hoopla, and GMB switched to footage of the Australian singer’s stage show, including a shot of the crowd.
It was here that someone was holding up a poster that had the C-word in crystal clear pink bubble writing that hadn’t been blurred out.
As the poster was aired live on screen, Delta said: ‘We’re so excited to announce some new shows soon to head back here [to the UK] with the new album and be able to celebrate that.’
An ITV spokesperson told The Sun: ‘We apologise to any viewers offended by the accidental appearance of the expletive, which was featured in concert footage.
‘As soon as the error was discovered, it was corrected and didn’t appear in the +1 and ITVX versions.’
On X, user ThomasOxley wrote: ‘Haha! Bet the director was having a mild panic attack when that slipped through!’
‘Oops, should have looked at that footage before airing it,’ Sarah said.
Elsewhere in the chat, the 41-year-old shared that she was ‘always open’ to appearing on Strictly Come Dancing as well as her excitement for her upcoming album, Pure, coming out in November.
This is far from the first time the ITV show has had to navigate an unexpected issue while live on air.
In March, the show was forced to end 20 minutes early and switch over to This Morning ahead of schedule after the studio was evacuated, which led to a very confused pair of co-presenters – Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley.
Quickly scrambling to catch up, Cat told viewers: ‘It is us. We are not a figment of your imagination,’ Cat told viewers, who were likely baffled by seeing them before 10am.
Good Morning Britain airs every weekday morning on ITV from 6am.
