CBS has renewed Marshals for a second season. After an exceptional reception for the first couple of episodes, the network decided to renew the show. The network announced the renewal of Marshals for a second season just 12 days after the first season premiered on March 1, 2026.

Marshals opened with 9.52 million viewers for its initial airing on CBS on March 1, 2026. This marks the best start for a scripted network series in several years. The number grew to a whopping 20.6 million viewers after a week of streaming and other delayed viewing. The second episode also showed 8.4 million in live viewership.

The success of the show from the start prompted a quick renewal.

Set in the Yellowstone universe, Grimes reprises his role as Special Deputy U.S. Marshal Kayce Dutton in the new series. Brecken Merrill, Mo Brings Plenty, and Gil Birmingham also reprise their roles from the show. They are joined by Logan Marshall-Green, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, and Tatanka Means.
