Francesca Scorsese blasts trollers over Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2 casting hate

Legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese’s youngest daughter, Francesca Scorsese, has landed a role in Prime Video’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2. However, the announcement did not receive an entirely positive response. Instead, Francesca found herself at the center of heated online debates and criticism, particularly regarding her appearance.

“It has some of the worst comments I have ever seen about me,” Francesca explained about the backlash in a new video on TikTok. She noted that she has faced accusations of being a “nepo baby” since the beginning of her career. But, she said that the level of hate surrounding this role felt different.

“I understand. I know I have doors opened for,” she said, acknowledging her father’s influence on her career. “Like, I’m still trying to do the work, I’m still going hard and being passionate and creating and doing the work.”

She continued, “But I think if you go on people’s videos and you seek out negativity, you are a very, very sad person.”

In the video, she repeated some of the comments she received, including “fat,” “ugly,” “fridge,” and even “Miss Piggy.”

“I get it, I’m not the most beautiful girl in the world. I’m not the skinniest girl in the whole world. I’m chubby, I know it. But like, what the f**k does it matter?” she added.

She revealed that she had already deleted X because of the negative comments. She also said TikTok now appeared to be becoming a similar experience for her.

“There’s so many trolls and so many bots and people that just go on to just try to ruin somebody’s day or make somebody feel like s**t,” she continued. “This is the kind of thing that causes people to lose their lives, like, your words have power behind them. And I know I have a huge, you know, figure, my father to live up to, and like, that always overshadows me as a person.”

She added, “But come on, guys. I just want TikTok to be a better place like I feel like it used to be.”

Francesca Scorsese will next appear in Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2.
