With tickets for The Odyssey selling like hot cakes, audiences are revisiting one of star Matt Damon's biggest hits. The Odyssey will, in all likelihood, overtake this film at the box office and emerge as the biggest hit of Damon's career. To do so, it will also have to surpass the $630 million worldwide haul of The Martian. Damon has appeared in bigger hits — two of which, Interstellar and Oppenheimer, were directed by The Odyssey's Christopher Nolan — but he played supporting roles in them. Damon first tasted box office success in the 1990s, when he starred in Good Will Hunting and The Talented Mr. Ripley. But it was in the 2000s that he truly emerged as a movie star.
