Move over Tom Hanks, “The Gilded Age” and “Black Rabbit” star Morgan Spector is reportedly in negotiations to take on the role of Harvard symbologist Professor Robert Langdon for “The Secret of Secrets” series on Netflix.

In addition, Spector’s real-life wife Rebecca Hall (“The Town,” “Iron Man 3”) is in talks for the female lead role in the project, which hails from showrunner Carlton Cuse (“Lost,” “Bates Motel”).

The series is an adaptation of Dan Brown’s latest novel, which released last year, and the sixth overall Langdon book following “Angels & Demons,” “The Da Vinci Code,” “The Lost Symbol,” “Inferno” and “Origin”.

The story follows Langdon (Spector) as he races against ancient forces and time to rescue his girlfriend, missing scientist Katherine Solomon (Hall), and her groundbreaking manuscript whose discoveries have the power to forever change humanity’s understanding of the mind.

Brown and Cuse are co-creators, and executive producers of the currently untitled series with Cuse serving as writer and showrunner. Filming begins this Fall in Prague.

The casting wouldn’t impact Spector’s fan favorite role of railroad tycoon George Russell in “The Gilded Age” with scheduling working around it should that HBO series get a fifth season.

Hanks played Langdon in three Ron Howard-directed films from 2006-2016, while Ashley Zukerman played a young version of the character for a single season Peacock series in 2021.
