When 3 Body Problem landed on Netflix, it was facing an uphill task. Apple TV is considered the home of major science fiction these days, and this was a prestige story that could have failed in the wrong hands. However, one of the biggest things working in its favor was scale. This didn't feel like a show made on the cheap and thrown onto the streamer quickly, it felt big, it felt massive and sense, and it was, above all else, ambitious as hell, and that's why people quickly latched onto it. Unfortunately, that's why this latest update may be quite the blow.. Netflix already confirmed the series would continue with Seasons 2 and 3 to finish the story, but the shape of that ending now appears to be changing.
