Netflix even made history by screening the final episode in theaters for fans around the world, knowing that it wouldn’t pocket a single dime, but it still made millions at the box office. Netflix kept the sci-fi momentum going with one of the most ambitious straight-to-streaming blockbusters of all time, War Machine, starring Alan Ritchson. Ritchson’s Reacher fame helped prove him more than capable of leading Netflix’s sci-fi epic, and after scoring over 125 million views, the streamer has confirmed that a sequel to the film is officially in development. The latest sci-fi smash blowing up on Netflix is The Boroughs, the new Steven Spielberg-esque series being binged around the world.
