Both a reboot of the 1999 horror classic “The Blair Witch Project” and the eighth installment in the “Paranormal Activity” franchise are targeting a 2027 release.

The update comes from Blumhouse Productions chief Jason Blum during an appearance on IndieWire’s Screen Talk.

Asked about his next films as a producer, Blum said: “They’re both coming out next year. Blair Witch and Paranormal [Activity].” Specific dates have not been set.

Producer James Wan also tells the outlet: “Getting all the original people that were involved in the original Blair Witch, getting their blessing and getting them involved. That was very important for all of us. We wanted to pay respect to the legacy of it all.”

Dylan Clark (“Catcher,” “Storytime”) is directing the “Blair Witch” reboot from a screenplay he rewrote based on an original draft by Chris Devlin.

Blum, Wan, Roy Lee, Adam Hendricks, and Greg Gilreath all produce the new “The Blair Witch Project” which will follow a family that goes on a camping trip but goes missing one by one after they hear strange noises in the forest.

It will mark the fourth overall film following the original, the sequel and the 2016 reboot.
