Prime Video renewed one of its most unconventional comedy hits for a third season after the series gained strong critical attention and audience interest. The offbeat project, which holds an 84% Rotten Tomatoes score, will continue expanding its hidden-camera format while keeping major creative details under wraps.
Jury Duty renewed for Season 3 at Prime Video
Deadline reported that Amazon renewed Jury Duty for a third season during its upfront presentation this week. Amazon Global Head of TV Peter Friedlander announced the renewal without revealing the new setting. Conversations about another season reportedly started earlier this year before Amazon finalized the renewal Sunday.
The comedy series recently streamed its second season, which featured Anthony Norman beside original participant Ronald Gladden. Producers secretly filmed Norman during a staged corporate retreat involving actors portraying employees at a hot sauce company. The season followed escalating tensions between corporate expansion plans and smaller business priorities during the fabricated retreat.
Amazon has not confirmed whether the original creative team will return for the third season. Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky co-created the series and executive produced the first two installments. David Bernad also executive produced the show while simultaneously producing HBO’s The White Lotus anthology series.
The first season followed Ronald Gladden through a fictional jury trial featuring actors and carefully staged courtroom developments. Throughout filming, Gladden remained unaware that producers orchestrated every interaction surrounding the case. Meanwhile, actor James Marsden appeared as an exaggerated version of himself within the fabricated proceedings.
Later, the second installment titled Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat centered on temporary worker Anthony Norman. Initially, Norman believed coworkers and executives attended a legitimate company retreat before learning producers staged the entire experience. However, Amazon has not revealed casting information, production timelines, or a release date for the third season.
Additionally, producers have not confirmed the storyline or central setting planned for the upcoming installment. Friedlander avoided discussing possible locations because those details could expose the hidden-camera production format. Instead, the series will continue placing unsuspecting participants inside elaborate fictional environments created specifically for filming.
