The reboot of Battlestar Galactica took the space epic genre into the modern age, as it took a politically-charged premise and created parallels for ongoing world events. Battlestar Galactica wasn’t just a series about spectacle, but one about the lasting costs of war and the very definition of being “human.” Although it was a breakthrough during its time for what it accomplished on a technical level, Battlestar Galactica has held up as one of the tightest, most well-written sci-fi shows in history.
