Popular MHA, Berserk & One Piece Actor Takahiro Fujiwara Dies at 43

Takahiro Fujiwara, the popular voice actor known for his roles in My Hero Academia and Berserk, has died at the age of 43. Tributes have begun pouring in from across social media, honoring the star’s stellar legacy and memorable performances.

Takahiro Fujiwara dies aged 43

Japanese voice actor Takahiro Fujiwara passed away on May 14 at the age of 43. The official website of his agency, Ken Production, confirmed his death in a statement.

“Our company-affiliated actor Takahiro Fujiwara (43) passed away peacefully on May 14. We sincerely thank everyone for the kindness and support shown to him during his lifetime,” the translated statement reads.

The agency also shared, “The funeral service was held privately with only close family members present, in accordance with the wishes of his family. We appreciate your understanding.”

Fujiwara was best known for playing Kurogiri, one of the most notable villains in My Hero Academia. He has also performed in multiple other beloved anime series throughout his long-standing career. Some of the most prominent roles in his repertoire include Pippin in Berserk, Dorry in One Piece, Kenpachi Kiganjō in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, and many more.

Bleach’s official X account has also posted a heartfelt tribute for the late actor. “We extend our heartfelt condolences and once again express our deepest gratitude for your contributions across multiple roles, which brought such vibrancy to our work,” the translated post read. “We pray sincerely for your eternal rest,” it added.

My Hero Academia’s official X page has also penned a touching tribute for Fujiwara. “Takahiro Fujiwara, the voice actor for Kurogiri in the anime My Hero Academia, passed away on May 14, 2026,” the statement read. “We would once again like to express our gratitude for his performance as Kurogiri, a character who appeared from Season 1 onward, and we pray from the bottom of our hearts for his peaceful rest,” it added.

Besides anime series, Fujiwara had worked on several popular video games. These include Rise of the Ronin, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.
