When it comes to some of the best superhero castings of all-time, one of the first names that comes to mind is Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. However, another that should be considered on the same level is Ryan Reynolds’ casting as Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth, who first starred in a solo movie 10 years ago. Reynolds played a different version of the character years prior in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but it wasn’t until Deadpool in 2016 that he was allowed to bring a more faithful iteration to the screen. Deadpool has since become one of the most popular superheroes in the world, with his most recent film grossing over $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie ever.
