Paramount has released parody posters for Scary Movie 6. The artwork mocks The Substance, Nope, Get Out, and other horror titles, as tickets go on sale ahead of the June 5 release.

Scary Movie 6 gets new posters as tickets go on sale

The new posters released by Paramount are classic Scary Movie — take something audiences recognize immediately and twist it just enough to make them laugh. Each one recreates a defining shot from a recent horror hit, then undercuts it with slapstick.

Alongside The Substance, Nope, and Get Out, the campaign also sets its sights on Smile, Backroom, Sinners, and Weapons. This comes after a trailer that already tipped the film’s hand. That preview packed in nods to Scream 6, M3GAN, Terrifier, Heart Eyes, Malignant, and Final Destination Bloodlines.

Behind the scenes, the franchise’s original creative trio is back in charge. Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Keenen Ivory Wayans have returned to write and produce, with Michael Tiddes directing. Anna Faris and Regina Hall are back as Cindy and Brenda. The wider cast includes familiar faces like Dave Sheridan, Cheri Oteri, Lochlyn Munro, and Jon Abrahams. The newcomers Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans, and Heidi Gardner also join the cast.

Scary Movie 6’s story picks up a thread left dangling for decades. A masked killer the group first encountered 26 years ago resurfaces, pulling Cindy, Ray, Shorty, and Brenda back together. The plot treats the first two films as canon and moves past the later sequels.

Marlon Wayans spoke about the comedy as seen in Scary Movie 6 parody posters. “We’re gonna do what we always do,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “We’re gonna make fun of everybody because we’re equal opportunity offenders. We have a recipe, we have a formula that you can’t mimic or copy. You could try, but it’s very specific.”

Now, fans will get to see that when Scary Movie 6 releases in theaters on June 5.
