Way back in November 2022, Sega said its games as a service (GaaS), online project referred to Super Game, which would be designed to be constantly update and bring in attention and money, would appear in March 2026. It even suggested it could include NFTs at the time. Now that the deadline came and went, the Sega Sammy Fiscal Year Ended March 2026 Results Presentation on the IR News section of its official site confirmed Super Game is canceled.
The Sega announcement regarding Super Game came up in the “Review of the GaaS Strategy” report. The section discussing the progress of projects up through fiscal year March 2026 was the only mention of the title. It didn’t explain why the title is being canceled. It only said it won’t cost any more money to halt progress. That section also noted the Rovio titles didn’t work out as expected, Sonic Rumble Party isn’t performing well, and some games are delayed. The future direction section said about 100 free-to-play developers are now working on “full game development” and Rovio will go through restructuring.
This report also went over some upcoming games, confirming titles on the way. However, no set release dates are mentioned for some upcoming projects. First, here’s the list of new games that Sega has in development.
Alien Isolation Crazy Taxi Golden Axe Jet Set Radio New Virtua Fighter Project Persona 4 Revival Stranger than Heaven Streets of Rage Total War: Medieval III Total War: Warhammer 40,000It also suggested some of the animated projects it’s working on. Some of these anime series, animation projects, and movies do have release dates, and those are mentioned when applicable.
