2026 is already lining up to be a big year for blockbusters thanks to the premiere of Project Hail Mary, but there are plenty of other summer movies to look forward to. Next month, Star Wars will return to the big screen for the first time since 2019 with the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu, which is a direct continuation of the three-season Disney+ series. This summer will also feature the long-awaited return to theaters for some of the most notable Hollywood directors of all time, like Steven Spielberg and Christopher Nolan. The former will return to the world of sci-fi with a new alien invasion film titled Disclosure Day, which stars Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor. The latter will helm a cinematic retelling of Homer’s The Odyssey, starring Matt Damon and Tom Holland.
