Since its premiere in 2023, CBS' missing persons crime thriller Tracker has been a ratings magnet. The series was a runaway hit, becoming the top show of the 2023-2024 season and has held that title for the past two seasons. However, things are changing in the third season with the premiere of Taylor Sheridan's new Yellowstone spin-off, Marshals. The Luke Grimes-led series has invaded the procedural space with its premise of the youngest Dutton sibling joining law enforcement. And like its predecessor, Marshals has become a major success to the point of bypassing Tracker to become the top new show on CBS and the top show overall.
