Matt Reeves has confirmed a noticeable change to Robert Pattinson‘s costume in The Batman Part II. The highly anticipated sequel will continue the story that began in 2022’s The Batman.

The director recently shared a link to a teaser video for The Batman Part II on his X account. Titled Camera Test, the brief clip showed Robert Pattinson fully suited up in his Batman costume. The suit looked nearly identical to the one from the first film. However, one fan quickly noticed a subtle difference.

The user named @femklance reacted to the teaser, saying, “THE EARS LOOK LONGER TO ME AM I CRAZY”

Reeves then confirmed the observation by replying. He simply wrote, “You are not crazy”

Reeves’ reply confirms that Batman’s cowl features slightly longer ears than in the first film. The change also aligns with earlier reports that Batman’s suit would receive subtle redesigns for the sequel.

Back in April, The Batman Part II’s costume designers were asked to share details on the potential new Batman suit. David Crossman and Glyn Dillon, who previously worked on Project Hail Mary, chose not to reveal anything. Their response suggested that costume details were being kept under wraps. “I don’t think we can talk about that,” said Dillon.

The Batman Part II was set to come out next year on October 1, 2027. However, the anticipated film has now been delayed.

The Matt Reeves movie will now hit theaters on February 18, 2028. Besides Pattinson, the sequel is reportedly set to feature Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry, and Charles Dance, among others.

While the main plot details are still under wraps for the film, it’s expected to take place during winter in Gotham City. The story is likely to feature new villains, too, with recent rumors suggesting an appearance of popular DC character Poison Ivy. However, all unverified claims and speculation should be taken with a grain of salt.
