I finally finished this book last night. I had read some stuff from this author before. I have read “The Hunting Party” and then I read “The Paris Apartment” before this one and I enjoyed both. This one was a little bit different or I feel a little bit different vibe from this one that I have from the others I’ve read before, it’s hard to explain. It may just be that it’s been awhile since I’ve read the other books and my memory isn’t that great. There are some surprises in this book, especially towards the end (which is normal for this author to throw a curveball or two). You’ll read through several different viewpoints during this book but I didn’t find it hard to follow along. Also, the murderer is not who you’ll expect it to be……

{Note: It’s best to save this book for adults only. There may be some themes not appropriate for younger audiences.}

Synopsis: It’s the opening night of The Manor, and no expense, small or large, has been spared. The infinity pool sparkles; crystal pouches for guests’ healing have been placed in the Seaside Cottages and Woodland Hutches; the “Manor Mule” cocktail (grapefruit, ginger, vodka, and a dash of CBD oil) is being poured with a heavy hand. Everyone is wearing linen.

But under the burning midsummer sun, darkness stirs. Old friends and enemies circulate among the guests. Just outside the Manor’s immaculately kept grounds, an ancient forest bristles with secrets. And the Sunday morning of opening weekend, the local police are called. Something’s not right with the guests. There’s been a fire. A body’s been discovered.

THE FOUNDER * THE HUSBAND * THE MYSTERY GUEST * THE KITCHEN HELP

It all began with a secret, fifteen years ago. Now the past has crashed the party. And it’ll end in murder at… The Midnight Feast.
