It might feel as if the multiverse is a relatively new concept; after all, Hollywood hasn't been able to get enough of it over recent years. However, the concept actually dates back to 1950s quantum physics and has been appearing in popular culture ever since. It is, nevertheless, this past decade that has seen a boom in the multiverse's popularity, most notably with the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the $1.9 billion blockbuster that stands as one of the highest-grossing movies of the 2020s.
