The cast of Schitt's Creek pictured in 2018If there’s been a Schitt’s Creek-shaped hole in your life ever since the hit comedy dropped off Netflix last month, we have some news that’s going to get your weekend off to a very exciting start.
The Canadian series had a boost in popularity when it began streaming on Netflix on this side of the Atlantic for its final two seasons in 2019 and 2020, and in the years since, it’s become go-to comfort viewing for its loyal fans.
However, in May 2026, fans were gutted when it was revealed that the award-winning show would be leaving Netflix – but we’re happy to report that it’s now found a new streaming home in the UK.
And best of all, you don’t need to pay a monthly subscription fee to watch it.
On Thursday, it was revealed that Schitt’s Creek would be streaming in its entirety on BBC iPlayer from this weekend.
All six seasons will premiere on iPlayer on Saturday 6 June, so there’s not long at all till you can reunite once again with one of TV’s most chaotic families.
Annie Murphy, Dan Levy, Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy on the set of Schitt's CreekSchitt’s Creek was co-created by Dan and Eugene Levy, who also starred in the series alongside Annie Murphy and the late, great Catherine O’Hara.
Centring around a rich family who fall on hard times and are forced to sell their property and relocate to a small town, the show became a smash hit thanks to its sense of humour and stellar performances.
In 2020, Schitt’s Creek made history when all four of its central cast members won Emmys for their performances in the final season – but let’s face it, it’s Catherine’s performance as the incomparable Moira Rose that kept so many of us tuning in over the years.
Earlier this year, Catherine’s on-screen family paid their respects when the actor died suddenly at the age of 71, having privately been diagnosed with cancer.
