This article contains spoilers for tonight’s (Thursday, May 28) Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on YouTube and ITVX.
Though Theo Silverton’s funeral marked the official end of his tenure in tonight’s Coronation Street episode, his murder continued to dominate conversation on the cobbles – and an unexpected suspect entered the frame.
The hunt is still on for his killer, and the truth about the sequence of events that occurred on that fateful night.
Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) is currently behind bars, having been charged with Theo’s murder – a crime that she is adamant she didn’t commit.
Wanting to keep her spirits up, friends Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey), Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) paid her a visit, but they returned to the street concerned.
As they recounted their visit to Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), they revealed that she was really struggling, and they feared she wouldn’t survive the ordeal.
This conversation was overheard by Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), and it appeared to have a profound effect.
Viewers will recall that Summer had told police that Tyrone had seen her on the street after leaving Theo’s flat, and that he’d also seen Theo standing in the window, very much alive.
However, when DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) questioned him about it, Tyrone insisted that it hadn’t happened, and Summer was horrified when she learnt about his lie.
If that wasn’t enough to raise your suspicions about Tyrone’s involvement in Theo’s murder, then the phone call he made at the end of tonight’s episode will surely leave you looking at Tyrone through a new lense.
You’ll have to watch the episode to find out exactly what was said, but it’s safe to say that Tyrone may not be completely innocent…
However, he wasn’t the only suspect to raise suspicions in tonight’s episode.

Todd’s loved ones were keen to keep his mind off the funeral of his abusive husband, and decided to treat him to a meal at the Bistro.
Though at first he was against the idea of spending time with George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) after his betrayal of Summer, Todd eventually relented and was grateful for the distraction.
However, that all changed when Theo’s ex-wife Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson) stormed in, shouting the odds, accusing Todd and Summer of killing Theo for his life insurance.
Viewers will know that Todd was shocked to receive a call from the insurance company, telling him that he had been named as the beneficiary of Theo’s life insurance.
It took no time at all for Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) to turn the tables on Danielle, pointing out that she must have called to enquire about the money to have found out that it had been left to Todd.
As Danielle stormed out, she was accosted by Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) who reminded her that he’d seen her hanging around that night.
Though Danielle insisted she’d simply dropped off the Connor-Swain’s wedding cake, Ryan pointed out that she had a strong motive to kill Theo.
Could he be onto something?
