The Paramore frontwoman is in the middle of an extensive run of shows around the world in support of her third solo LP ‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’, which she released in July last year.

Last night (June 19), she played the first of two straight nights at London’s Roundhouse, and towards the end of her set, she brought out Romy for a duet on ‘Wild Horses’, the track first released on art pop group Prefab Sprout’s 1990 album ‘Jordan: The Comeback’.

The two singers previously worked together on a reworked version of Paramore’s ‘Liar’ on the “almost remix” album ‘Re: This Is Why’ album in 2023, a spinoff from the band’s sixth studio album earlier that year.

Hayley Williams played:

‘Mirtazapine’
‘Showbiz’
‘Disappearing Man’
‘Zissou’
‘Ice In My OJ’
‘Hard’
‘Kill Me’
‘Blood Bros’
‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’
‘Whim’
‘Glum’
‘Negative Self Talk’
‘True Believer’
‘Brotherly Hate’
‘Love Me Different’
‘Dream Girl In Shibuya’
‘Wild Horses’ (with Romy)
‘Good Ol’ Days’
‘Discovery Channel’

Romy is not the first guest to join Williams on this tour – Jenny Lewis and Julien Baker were part of her Los Angeles show last month, while Jack AntonoffBethany Cosentino and Jay Som had appeared at previous shows.

It is Williams’ first full solo tour and she has written about the effect it has had on her, saying it has “turned me back into a night owl” and “back into a teenaged dreamer with dark circles”.

In glowing five-star review of ‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’NME wrote: “As with almost every era of Hayley Williams’ career, this new release has come with questions about the future of Paramore. The determined lyrics on the tender ‘I Won’t Quit On You’ should be all the reassurance worried fans need, but if that’s not enough, there’s plenty in this brilliant, swaggering new chapter to be excited about.

“These songs might be about missed second chances, but Williams is certainly making the most of hers.”

It also went on to be named as the ninth best album of the year in NME’s end of year list. Last month, she also shared a 12-minute documentary about the making of the record.
