This horror-comedy series is set in the very Stephen King-esque titular island town, which is almost entirely disconnected from modern society. There's no wifi or cell reception, and it seems that the rest of the world has completely forgotten that Widow's Bay exists. It's precisely this that Mayor Tom Loftist (Matthew Rhys) hopes to change.
