A popular SNL cast member will leave the NBC sketch comedy series after seven years. The comedian took to social media to reflect on her time on the series and announce her “next chapter.”
Who is leaving SNL after seven years?
Chloe Fineman has announced that she is leaving Saturday Night Live after seven years. The actress and comedian has been one of the show’s standout performers since joining as a featured player in 2019.
Fineman shared an emotional Instagram post confirming that it’s time for a new chapter. “I have decided it’s time for my next chapter. It’s cliche to say this but working at SNL has been the greatest privilege of my life. I still can’t really believe I got to be a part of it.”
Remembering her fond memories of working at SNL, she added, “I fell in love with the place the second I walked through the door. Lorne (if you’re reading this on your burner account) I want you to know that I am forever in your debt. Every day I was lucky enough to be surrounded by the best people in the business, and I was constantly amazed watching them work.”
The actress revealed that it was a tough decision for her to leave, saying, “but it does feel like the right time. I’m going to miss it a lot.” Fineman also mentioned that despite moving away, SNL will remain “my home, and I know I’ll never be too far away.”
While Fineman didn’t mention a specific reason for leaving SNL, it appears the actress is set to appear in a brand new TV show. She is in final talks to join Netflix’s upcoming TV series Myron Bolitar, according to Deadline.
Myron Bolitar will be based on popular writer Harlan Coben‘s highly acclaimed 12-book series. The already announced cast for Netflix’s live-action adaptation includes Colin Woodell, KJ Apa, and Diane Guerrero.
