The Far Side’s Greatest Sci-Fi Strip Is Also Its Most Brilliant

If you've picked up the Sunday paper in the late 80s or early 90s, chances are you probably read The Far Side. Gary Larson's mix of razor-sharp wit and an ability to poke fun at any topic resulted in some truly surreal comic strips, as evidenced by the fact that Larson would take the strip in some surprising directions. One day, there might be a Star Trekparody where one of the ensigns comes to the grim realization that they're wearing a red shirt, and the next, a strip will feature one cow grilling steaks while his brethren look on in horror.
